Summary of Job Responsibilities:
The Sr Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the following across assigned projects within Project Based Services at Cytel:
• Lead the PBS team assigned to a project in planning and executing the project in accordance with contractual quality, timeline, and budget expectations while meeting client satisfaction expectations.
• Create and manage project timelines, scope and budget (including Change Orders), as well as other relevant project documents such as a communication plan and a risk management plan
• Ensure project compliance with the sponsor contract is met
• Actively manage project financial performance to achieve project profitability target and report status and outlook (including revenue, invoicing and forecasting)
• Communicate status for timelines, scope and budget to sponsor and management as required
• Act as primary point of contact for assigned customers for general project issues realting to scope, timeline, budget and quality, and otherwise if agreed by contract. • Onboard, train and mentor new Project Managers • Keep abreast of current and new Project Management techniques and other applicable advancements while assisting in their implementation Responsibilities may also include:
• Leading, or contributing to, the design of new Project Management processes and tools or optimization of existing ones to improve productivity, consistency, and/or quality.
• Direct Line Management of Project Management staff (e.g. PAs): Understand, organize and keep track of the work to be done. Understand on a high level what each of the employees is working on. Delegate and prioritize. Set clear objectives, seek regular feedback and assess individual performance. Provide coaching and hold frequently development discussions.
The Sr. PM will interface with functional project leads and the Strategic Account Manager (if one is assigned) for the account, as well as Cytel functional managers, the Proposal Group and Cytel Finance Group (for monthly revenue, invoicing and forecasting). The Sr PM will interface with a sponsor counterpart for regular progress meetings and issue resolution, and will facilitate as needed, function to function meetings and discussions with the sponsor to clarify deliverable expectations. The Sr PM will also participate in issue and scope resolution with clients. The Sr PM is expected to effectively manage projects of all complexity levels.

Qualifications and Experience:
• Minimum Education: Advanced degree in science or quantitative field.
• Minimum Work Requirements:
o 5 years relevant work experience, preferably in Biostatistics, Programming, or Data Management
o 3 years Project Management experience
o Experience in CRO environment preferred
• Skills:
o Excellent communication and influencing skills
o Leadership skills, including the ability to build effective teams, motivate others, and delegate effectively
o Strong financial management skills
o Structured approach to problem-solving, well organized and systematic
o Strong working knowledge of MS Project and MS Office, especially MS Excel.
