Director - Biostatistics and Programming

As the Director- Biostatistics and Programming (Engagement Director) you will be the primary point of contact at the operational level on the FSP engagement. You will be expected to utilize your experience level to resolve most issues and discussions as close to the project team as possible.  If additional Cytel resources (i.e. IT, Finance, Recruiting, HR, Account Manager) need to be involved in a solution, you will know exactly who to contact within Cytel to engage them in the discussion and insure communication and issue resolution occurs efficiently. Other responsibilities include:

• Resource planning and shifting
• Line managing Biostatistics and Programming Directors on FSP engagement
• Where necessary managing other programming resource on FSP engagement
• Recruiting interviews, status, and CV sharing
• Onboarding process issues and resolution
• Performance evaluations
• ESC, FMT and OMT core member
• Metric tracking and reporting
• Process efficiencies
• Document modification (SOW, Communication Plan, SLA)
• POC for involving other Cytel departments
• POC for escalation of issues within Cytel and the client
• Overall monitoring of timeliness and quality of team deliverables
• Training completion and oversight

Qualifications and Experience:

• Education: MS or PhD with experience working on clinical trials

Work Requirements:  

• Strong Project Management experience
• At least 15 years post graduate work experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload
• The ability to handle large volume of complex tasks with minimal or no input from the sponsor
• Ability to lead teams of Biostatisticians and Programmers

Skills:

• A thorough understanding of statistical principles
• Some knowledge of medical/biological terminology and clinical trial designs in relevant therapeutic areas
• Conversant with SAS programming, and knowledge of SAS procedures and other statistical software
• An effective communicator
• An effective team player; willingness to go the extra distance to get results, meet deadlines, etc.
• Ability to be flexible when priorities change
• Ability to deal with ambiguity
