Cytel is seeking an experienced and innovative leader to join our marketing organization as Executive Director of Content and Communications.  Serving as Cytel’s Chief Storyteller, you will report to the Vice President of Marketing and play a critical role in shaping, elevating, and communicating the Cytel brand.  Your primary responsibility will be to evangelize our story to a broadening audience - driving awareness, strengthening our thought leadership position, and supporting commercial objectives.   

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead our content and communications function and own the creation of a robust and effective enterprise communications and content strategy
  • Integrate customer-centric approaches - creating relevant and engaging content that articulates our core benefits and points of differentiation
  • Partner with key business leaders and subject matter experts to develop critical thought leadership and compelling marketing content designed to increase brand preference, client engagement and lead volume/quality
  • Develop and manage Cytel’s media/PR strategy
  • Lead the identification, development, pitching and placement of Cytel-related stories in relevant industry publications and trade media
  • Oversee press opportunities, press releases, bylines, blog posts and other key pieces of thought leadership content from ideation to completion
  • Create KPI/reporting to assess impact and refine content and communications strategies
  • Experienced people leader capable of inspiring, developing and motivating emerging talent
  • Own and maintain our verbal identity – be the “voice of Cytel” – ensuring all written content is on brand
  • Manage content creation agencies/freelancers and our DAM

 

Requirements:

  • BA/BS in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or related degree
  • 12+ years of experience in developing corporate communications, content marketing, public relations, and editorial/writing/copy-editing
  • Experience in B2B marketing required with industry/domain expertise in life sciences preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Experience producing content for digital channels across multiple disciplines (text, design, video, etc.) and media (blogs, guides, whitepapers, research, infographics, etc.)
  • Ability and openness to work cooperatively in a team environment, within a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Experience with digital asset management software
  • Experience working with geographically dispersed teams.
  • Curiosity and a drive for constant learning along with abilities as a natural storyteller, able to transform complex concepts into compelling, accessible, and on-brand stories that pique audiences’ interest, provide value, and win trust
